ABOUT THE CLUB

Why join us?!

Experienced

IRC was established in 2006, making us one of the oldest STEM clubs at Ingraham High School. We are one of the few clubs at our school to have starred in the Seattle Times and one of a very few rocketry clubs in the Seattle Public Schools District.

Focus on STEM Topics

Ingraham Rocketry has had considerable success and growth since its inception in 2006. It has grown from a small group to a robust force. Club activities, with their different and demanding performance targets, are sponsored by industry groups and NASA to serve the underlying mission of engaging students in sciences, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields.

Fun Activities!

Club activities include participating in the Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC) and NASA's Student Launch Initiative (SLI). Many of our club members also participate in Sodblaster. Club members can get high power certified then, as well as see many other cool rocket launches.

Expanding your knowledge!

The club provides many opportunities to learn new skills and knowledge, such as basic aerodynamics, sewing, and mechanical/electrical design. Our members also learn how to work with Carbon Fibre, fiberglass, plastic, wood, Kraft phenolic paper, 3D printers, and more. Club graduates have gone on to universities to study math, aerospace engineering, chemistry, biology, physics and bio-engineering, discovering career paths that didn't seem possible when they first started high school.
